Dr. Laura Railand graduated from Oregon Health and Science University with the degree of Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (D.M.D.). At OHSU Dr. Railand graduated 6th in her class with honors both clinically and academically, and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. She then went on to complete a dental residency through The University of New Mexico Medical School. At UNM Dr. Railand focused on advanced oral surgery, complex dental rehabilitations, pediatric dentistry and medically complex patients. Through clinical and hospital based training she gained knowledge of how the mouth plays an integral part in the rest of the body. Through UNM hospital Dr. Railand was part of a dental team that evaluated patients for dental clearance before surgeries. In this setting it was never more clear how dental health affects a patient and vise versa.
Dr. Railand has dedicated much of her time to advancing her knowledge of the oral systemic connection and biologic dental treatments that she believes are a better long-term solution for a patient’s dental and overall health. She previously practiced dentistry in Santa Fe, NM and currently works with Dr. Douglas Cook in Northern Wisconsin. When not furthering her dental education, Dr. Railand enjoys the outdoors with her husband, two daughters, ages 3 and 5, and her rescue dog, a Bernese Mountain dog mix who turned out to be the best dog in the world! Dr. Railand is so excited to have her own practice where she can treat her patients with compassion, a gentle hand, and a dedication to high quality dentistry.
